Thumbs down Error 7

I don't know if this has been discussed before; I searched for "error 7" and didn't come up with anything, also tried "err 7" but it was too short for the search engine's liking. Sorry if this has been discussed before. If so please give me the link so I can bump it.

I was playing with a tombs team earlier today. I did a couple of runs with on PUG, then they split. After waiting for a bit I got started with another decent PUG. We did one run and everything was fine. On our second run I got error 7 right after we killed the ghosts. I logged back on, apologised and they came back for me. On our next run guess what, error 7 even before we kill any ghosts. So I logged back on and sent a whisper saying sorry again. I then decided not to ruin any more teams and stopped playing for the day.

The most annoying thing about error 7 is that it messes up teamplay in a big way. I don't mind as much if I lag out on a skill capping run or while I'm in an outpost, but I really hate letting my team down especially in tombs/UW/FoW. Luckily enough most of the people I've played with are understanding enough and let me back in the group. However I'm sure there's a limit to their patience and one day I'll develop a reputation for lagging out and be forever scorned from ever joining another group.

I'm curious whether this is a problem confined to the Euro servers or a global problem. I've experience error 7 quite frequently especially in the past month or so. When I first bought the game it was not a problem. On whether or not it's my Internet connection that's to blame, my wireless network connection status says I've been connected for 4+ hours, and I was PvPing during this time. So there was no loss of connection. Also I've had error 7 before and TS/Vent stayed connected in spite of it.

I'm quite curious to know how widespread this problem is so please post if you've been affected.

EDIT: Can you also post which servers you play on and at what times you get error 7, just to get a general idea.

Personally i seem to get them only at the weekends even though i probably spend more time on it during the week.

I'd like to see an NPC of the same pimary take the place of the dropped player or at least give the option to the group leader so that they are not a man down.

I think Guildwars should put more effort in being able to reconnect to your previous area and group rather then nerf/buffing skills and areas. I am sure more people would rather have that fixed than FOTM's.

I was getting this issue for a couple weeks straight, I did not really notice it much doing anything but guildwars. It turned out that my inside wiring for broadband was just degregated enough to cause GW to loose sinc and drop me out before it could regain. Hope that is not your problem, but if all else fails, you might look into it.

I used to get Err=7's alot, before my broadband provider upgraded their network. It was so unpredictable that I stopped PUG-ing altogether for fear of leaving the teams in the lurch. After the upgrade and all their new drivers, I hardly ever get 7's now.

I wish we could get this fixed. My friend is getting Net-7's all the time when we're trying to play with him and when he's alone. He's right in the middle of a battle or exploring, and he just Net-7's back to logon, even in the middle of using a skill.

I do wish ArenaNet would fix this.

I was getting error 7's quite a bit, so much so that I phoned my internet service provider to see if there were any hints they had in regards to slow connection speeds or disconnects. Got lucky and spoke to a guy who plays online games (not GW I am sorry to say), and knew my pain. Since I am on cable and only have one line into my house, I use a splitter. Maybe I am the only one who did not know this, but as it turns out this can mess up your internet service. Disconnected the splitter and I have never had another Err=7 message since.

I only get err7's when I minimize GW and then open a lot of internet browsers and they all have long loading times or something.

I got a couple error=7 messages on monday. And I was lagging bad to... I sorta assumed both were combined in one very annoying problem.

Error 7 basically means you got disconnected from guild wars somehow. Almost anything that can cause network problems can cause it.

For the last 3 days I've been getting a lot of neterr=7's. I naturally assumed it was ArenaNet's problem but called my ISP just to make sure. Over the phone they were able to see that my home was receiving a very weak signal. A technician is coming over tomorrow to figure this out - so anyways, make sure to call your ISP if you get a lot of these neterr's!

Another thing I notice is that after getting error 7 messages I try to log back on and more often than not I get a error 58. I usually then restart GW and it works fine then. I'm still quite sure it's not my Internet connection but I'm going to try connecting directly to my wireless router using a cable next week to see how many error 7 messages I get then.

I'm lagging like crazy because of yet another "maintenance week" courtesy of my ISP.
Really sucks. It starts at 5pm and i don't have a smooth and enjoyable game until the next morning.
I even Err=7'd myself earlier.

When my ISP does their job, i can really see that Anet does a real good job with their networking because gameplay is as smooth as a bolt of silk...and that's playing across an ocean too!

I think Guildwars should put more effort in being able to reconnect to your previous area and group rather then nerf/buffing skills and areas.

We need to email this to them like 10 thousand times
